Begur is a pretty medieval town on the Costa Brava, in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, approximately 31 miles from Girona and approximately 81 miles from Barcelona. The town is largely unspoilt, featuring winding, cobbled streets, all of which are completely pedestrianised, and overlooked by the ruins of a crumbling 11th century castle. The town overlooks the beautiful coves of Aiguablava, Aiguafreda and Tamariu but, because it is not directly on the coast, it is mercifully free from tourists. This is often a deciding factor for those who choose to buy house in Begur and the town is, in fact, one of the preferred locations for property buyers on the Costa Brava.
The property market in Begur, like the property market in Spain as a whole, has bounced back from past recessions. Finding a property in the right location is a crucial factor in buying house in Begur, but superior properties in unspoilt coastal villages are much sought after and likely to become increasingly so as the national property market in Spain continues to grow.
Spanish real estate agent Damlex Realty offers some of the best properties on the Costa Brava, including attractive houses and villas in and around Begur, for sale at affordable prices. Properties are typically well appointed, with easy access to the beaches and coves, and include all modern conveniences.
