It"s a stone house with incredible charm and panoramic views of the sea, mountains and the town of Castell-Platja d"Aro.With its rustic style, this house, renovated several years ago by an architect, is extremely well appointed and very welcoming.The house has a main living and dining room with an open fireplace and uninterrupted views. The stone walls and terracotta floor tiles make this a very welcoming space. Next door is a large kitchen, also with a fireplace, where the large work surfaces and table make cooking a breeze. You"ll find all the appliances you need.A short corridor leads to the first 2 bedrooms (one of which is currently an office and painter"s studio) with built-in wardrobes overlooking the green rear of the house. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom with walk-in shower.The last bedroom is a suite. It also has wall storage and its own vintage-style bathroom with bath. This room enjoys superb views of the mountains and the Mediterranean.The tour of the house ends with an interior patio that is perfect for summer evenings or can be closed off to convert it into a veranda or additional bedroom.The plot has 2 terraces (one of which is covered and opens onto the dining room), a barbecue area made of local stone (next to the kitchen) and has been fully landscaped to create a beautiful green setting. Situated to the north of the Catalan capital of Barcelona, Playa de Aro is a coastal town which has about 10,000 inhabitants throughout the year. It is a good size of settlement for both holidaymakers and people looking for a permanent place to reside. The town is split into two sections, that which overlooks the sea and that which is situated a little inland from the rest. There are numerous small beaches that are accessible from the part of the town that was originally a fishing port. The older part was constructed around a castle and a fortified church, known locally as the Castell d'Aro.
The municipality of Play de Aro lies on the Costa Brava, facing the Mediterranean Sea, about half an hour from the popular, bustling resort of Lloret de Mar. It is an hour and a half from Barcelona's busy airport and a similar distance from the French city of Perpignan across the Pyrenees. It only takes around 80 minutes by car to reach Barcelona's city centre with its many bars, shops and restaurants, so the location is ideally suited to people seeking a relaxed way of life with good, local shops but where you are never too far away from the action.
